May Pastor’s Message

Winter is lingering.

Do you remember March and April? Just when we got a taste of Spring, temperatures would nosedive, then climb again. The strange weather can affect our plans, make us postpone getting out spring clothes, make us think twice about putting away the shovels and snow blowers. The biggest snowfall of the season happened on the first day of Spring – after some flowers began sprouting.

And yet – the flowers grew, the trees budded, the daylight hours began to get longer. Creation itself reminds us that our God isn’t flummoxed by quirks in the weather, or even catastrophes on earth.

But He knows that we are affected. And He calls us to trust Him, even when life doesn’t go according to our plan. That trust involves obedience, even when it’s difficult or inconvenient.
