May Pastor’s Message

I remember ads for “Lee Press-On Nails.” For a small investment of money and time, you too could have long, strong, beautiful nails. They would save you the frustration and impatience of trying to grow your own. But the danger of press-on nails may outweigh the benefit, especially in the long term.

Our Conference theme this year is about a very different kind of “pressing on.” It’s about the day-to-day spending time with the Lord, surrendering the need to constantly be in control, living from a submitted heart instead of exhausting your energy “trying to look good.” As the Apostle Paul first said it, “I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.”
